peacock inspiration

I ran another 5k today. 39 minutes (about 5 minutes of walking).

The other day while working on my digital peacock damask, I was inspired and wanted to doodle a peacock.
I love it when one totally different craft inspires something else.

5.2

1. Train to run 5K -  Tonight I ran 5.2. Wahoo. Took about 42 minutes, with a couple minutes of walking interspersed, so I didn't die. I still have about four months until my birthday, so I'm going to keep practicing, so it will hopefully get easier. But I did it.

Spending way too much time on Pinterest these days. What a delightfully inspiring waste of time.

The rest of my time has been spent on my Illustrator classes. Its the last week, which I'm sort of looking forward too, so that some of the constant pressure is gone. But also sad, because they are super awesome classes.
Lots of pattern work these days. Lots of fun. Hopefully some more fun graphic stuff soon!

Right now, I'm exhausted from my run, going to crawl into bed.

Patterns, Brushes, Swirls, Oh my

Its been a crazy week. I am currently working on 3 online classes, Illustrator 102, Ornaments & Embellishments, and Making a Pattern. Its awesome, but oh so much to keep on top of.

Lots of patterns going on around here, I've become a bit obsessed.

Pretty much loving everything about it, just wish I had more time!

13. go to san Francisco

Yesterday I booked a little getaway to San Fran. I wont quite make it there by the end of 23, but I'm counting in.

And then, I found this most awesome Letterpress place ever in San Francisco. You can get certified - in letterpress. Amazing. I know one thing that is on my 24 list!

I am simply in love with their classes. It is everything I have been looking for. Aside from the fact that it is about 4000km from where I live.

Little jellies

I've been very busy with week 2 of Illustrator 102. So in love with live paint and clipping masks. And about a million other things. It tempts me to call in sick to work, just about everyday.

I got super exciting feedback on my little foxy drawing:
Alma Loveland wrote:  Excellent!! Love this! Excellent, excellent job!!I don't know that I would change a thing! could be fun on a colored background, but I love it on the white, too!

So that made my day!

I've been playing with a zebra graphic, created from one of my gazillion zebra pictures.

I have millions of other ideas swirling in my mind...so more to share soon!

Hitting the ground running

Last Monday I got back from Africa at midnight. The next morning I had to be at work, get over my jetlag, get back on the right time zone, get used to reality, and catch up on my Illustrator 102 class that started on Sunday.

So it was a busy week. But crazy good.

I have tons of African inspired ideas going on right now.

This weekend, all my free creative time was spent working on this weeks homework and lesson. It was amazing to spend so much time in illustrator again. And I'm in love with live paint. And creating pattern swatches.

These are what I spent most of my time working on this weekend, as part of this weeks homework.
